What is a Zone?
Zones are used in a warehouse to define where certain actions can be permitted. They span over Locations and Areas and are not limited to those parameters. They are similar to how land is “Zoned” to be used for residential, commercial, etc. purposes.
List of the Zones
-Work (Directed Work)
-Storage (Putaway, Consolidation)
-Pick (Allocation, Pick Rules)
-Movement (Policies)
-Count (Cycle Counts)
-Loc. Type (Stage, Receiving)
Work Zone
-Utilized to limit the congestion by maximum equipment allowed in a zone. Work zones also limit RF operator travel by restricting movement out when there is work that has a high priority. I.E. Can I use my RF Gun here?

Importance of Work Zone
-Work Areas keep vehicles in the Area, but Zone limits the amount of Vehicles in parts of the Area.
-Work Zones configure Vehicle limits and counts
-Directed Work 3 P's:
Permission Am I allowed to use my device here?
Priority: How close am I to this Work Request?
Proximity: How important is this Work?
Storage Zones
-Utilized for Putaway and Consolidation
Table: sto_zone
Key: sto_zone_id, sto_zone_cod
Pick Zones
-Utilized for where inventory is to be picked from when orders are placed
Table: pck_zone
Key: pck_zone_id, pck_zone_cod
Movement Zone
-A movement zone is used to group locations which move inventory in and out. All locations in the warehouse will be in a movement zone. An example of a movement zone is a set of pickup and deposit locations at the end of an aisle, which are used to temporarily store received LPNs until they can be put away to the final storage location.

Key: mov_zone_id, mov_zone_cod
Count Zone
-Count zones are typically used to group counts so when starting a group, the same counter would continue to perform all counts in the group. For example, CZ01 groups all locations in Aisle 1 and any counts in this aisle would be grouped together.
Table: cntzon
Key: cnt_zone_id, cnt_zone_cod
Location Type Zones
-Zones specific to a Location type. These include but are not limited to receiving zones, staging zones, etc.
-These zones do not have specific tables or keys but rather are tied into the previously mentioned tables depending on the location
