Top 5 reasons why picks do not release
1) System is waiting for a replenishment pick to be completed for the part to satisfy the order line.
- Check Replenishment Summary for an emergency replenishment for the part.
- Check Pick Cancellation Operations and the pick status for the pick that is not releasing. If pending, then the pick is waiting for the replenishment to the pick location.
2) Move path is setup for the inventory coming out of area and location, but not at the allocated level.
- Determine the area and location where the inventory exists.
- Check Area Maintenance to see if a movement path exists. If no movement path, then this is not the problem. If a movement path exists, then check for the load level and make sure it is the same as the allocated load level.
3) There is no location to move the inventory to once it is released.
- Determine the area and location where the inventory exists.
- Check Area Maintenance to determine if a movement path exists.
- Check that there is a location for the inventory to move to in every area defined in the movement path.
- Check the resource code in Location Maintenance for populated order numbers, shipments, carriers, etc. to see if the locations are reserved for other orders. Including checking shipment staging or the final destination for the order.
- Check the location status to ensure inventory can move to the locations.
4) The release rule specifies a pick label or pick list and the system is not configured for printing.
- Determine the area and location where the inventory exists.
- Check Area Maintenance for the command to release the pick.
- Check printer configuration for ability to print pick labels or pick list.
5) Pick Release Manager is not running to release the picks.
- Check MOCA or the server to determine if the pckrelmgr process is running.
